1. About the service

Inceipt is an online invoicing tool for freelancers and small businesses. It lets you create and send professional invoices, apply country-specific taxes (such as GST, VAT and sales tax), track payments, issue receipts, and manage clients and products. You may use it only for lawful billing purposes.

2. Accounts & eligibility

You must provide accurate account details and be old enough to enter a binding contract in your jurisdiction. You may register with an email and password or by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. One account is intended for one business or individual.

3. Your content & responsibilities

You own the invoices, clients, products, tax details and other data you enter ("your content"). You are solely responsible for its accuracy — including tax registration numbers (GSTIN, TRN, VAT number, etc.), rates, place of supply, and the figures on every invoice you issue. You grant us permission to store and process your content only as needed to run the service for you.

4. Tax calculations are a convenience, not advice

Inceipt's tax engine applies rules for supported jurisdictions (India, the UAE, the UK, the EU, the US, Canada, Australia and a generic mode) to help you produce compliant invoices. This includes deciding how a supply is treated when you and your client are in different countries — for example zero-rating an export, or adding reverse-charge wording — based on the country and tax details you record for each client. It also includes withholding tax (such as Indian TDS): where you enter a withholding rate, we show the amount your client is expected to deduct and the net you should expect to receive.

All of this is provided as a convenience and does not constitute tax, legal or accounting advice. Cross-border treatment and withholding in particular depend on facts we don't hold — your registration status, the nature of the supply, and any treaty between the two countries — so the result follows from what you enter. You are responsible for confirming that each invoice meets the requirements that apply to you, for the rates you apply, and for your own tax filings and remittances. Inceipt does not file returns or pay tax on your behalf.

Because changing your country or currency would retroactively alter issued invoices, those settings are fixed once during setup. For the same reason, invoices you've already issued keep the tax treatment and totals they were issued with, even if the rules or your settings change later.

5. Free trial

New accounts get a 7-day free trial, during which you can create up to 5 invoices and 2 clients and export full PDFs. No credit card is required to start. When the trial ends, your account becomes read-only until you subscribe: your invoices, clients and history remain visible and exportable, but you can't create or edit records. Nothing is deleted, and subscribing restores full access immediately.

6. Pro subscription, auto-renewal & cancellation

Pro removes the limits (unlimited invoices and clients) and adds custom branding, payment reminders and priority support. It currently costs ₹399 per month, billed in Indian Rupees.

Pro is an automatically recurring subscription. When you subscribe, you authorise a recurring mandate with our payment processor (Razorpay) and your payment method is charged automatically every month until you cancel. Each successful charge extends your access by one month. Razorpay handles your card details directly — we never see or store them.

You can cancel at any time from the Upgrade page in the app, with no cancellation fee. Cancelling stops all future charges; you keep Pro for the remainder of the period you've already paid for, and your account returns to read-only when that period ends. If a renewal payment fails, Razorpay may retry it; if it ultimately doesn't go through, your access lapses at the end of the paid period.

Prices are shown in the app and may change — we'll give you notice before a change affects your renewals. Except where required by law, payments already made are non-refundable, including for partly used periods.

7. Sending email

You may connect your own SMTP server so invoices and receipts are sent from your address; if you don't, we send them through our fallback delivery service on your behalf. We also send account emails such as a welcome message and payment-related notifications. You are responsible for the accuracy of recipient addresses and for using the service in line with anti-spam laws. Do not use Inceipt to send unsolicited bulk or deceptive email.

8. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no unlawful, fraudulent or infringing activity; no attempts to breach security, access other users' data, disrupt the platform, or reverse-engineer it; and no uploading of malware. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

9. Intellectual property

Inceipt, including its software, design, branding and logo, is owned by us and protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service while your account is in good standing. You may not copy, resell, or create derivative works from the platform. Your content remains yours this licence does not transfer ownership of anything you create.

10. Feedback & reviews

If you submit a review, rating or feedback, you grant us permission to store it and to display your name, role and comment publicly (for example, as a testimonial on our website). You can ask us to remove your review at any time. Feedback and suggestions may be used to improve the service without any obligation to you.

11. Third-party services

The service relies on third parties — including our hosting and database provider, payment processor, optional Google sign-in, and email delivery. Your use of these features is also subject to those providers' terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or outages beyond our reasonable control.

12. Availability & warranties

We work hard to keep Inceipt available and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Inceipt is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

14. Termination

You may stop using Inceipt and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms or the law. You can export your data before closing your account; see the Privacy Policy for how deletion works.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Inceipt operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be handled by the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law where you live provides otherwise.

16. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll revise the "last updated" date above, and continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
